Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver

            Where should I begin??

This book is kind of crazy. Nick and Dara are sisters. BUT then Dara and Parker, Nick's best friend, kiss and Parker and Nick are no longer friends. Parker and Dara break up, then get back together multiple times. Next, Dara and Nick aren't talking. They get in a car crash. Then, Madeline Snow goes missing. If that's not strange enough for their little town, it get's stranger when Dara goes missing. Of course Nick is going to try to find her when she realized that this is not a joke. Dara really went missing and Nick needed to find her.

Dara and Nick have a relationship that can be quite surprising. They used to do everything together and they knew their boundaries when it came to each other's friends. But when they stopped talking they were resentful like any normal sisters would be. I will give props though to Nick for trying to help her sister out. Well it's more like not rat her out... Personally I believe that the relationships that present themselves in this book are complex and although I can't relate to most o them, I know in this modern world, there are a lot of people who would be able to relate both to the relationships and to the characters. I can feel myself relate most with Nick. She's the "good" daughter. She tries to not do anything to crazy and to live up to other's expectations. On the other hand, Dara doesn't care what anyone thinks about her. She is the wild child. She will try everything. It doesn't matter what it is.

\            RATE: 4/5

I almost gave this book a 5/5, but when I think about the unnecessary cussing, and I feel that some topics were more adult than that which should be included in YA, I felt that giving it a 5/5 didn't feel right. The twist at the end was probably one of the best twists I have ever read. This book is seriously so AMAZING.
